Information management may be identified as a crucial challenge. This is particularly true when website contents and web-based information systems are addressed. Thus, the development of means and methods for website content management is the subject of this paper. Through a report of an application of a participant research, the functional description of a modular system for website content management is presented. Aspects associated with system development and application at 28 websites are discussed. Additionally, a quantitative evaluation, based on user satisfaction, easiness of use, frequency of use and importance of the different modules is presented. The results confirm the flexibility of the modular system proposed and reveal that: (i) web administrators were satisfied; (ii) they use the modules without noticeable difficulty; and (iii) they get positive results using the system.
