Bibliometric indicators of the Brazilian scientific production: an analysis from Pascal base

The production of Science, Technology and Innovation indicators has been growing in Brazil in the last decade with the acknoledgement, by Federal and state governments and by the national scientific community, of their uses on policy making in theses areas, as tools that may help to define priorities, allocation of investments and human resources, program formulation and evaluation. This paper aims to contribute to that, bringing an analysis based on bibliometric indicators of brazilian researchers' production on Science and Technology over the ninities, computed from an international and multidisciplinary bibliographical source: Pascal. The analysis of the indicators presented in this paper shows that the increase of the Brazilian scientific production was expressive in last the 20 years, so as its internationalization. It has been growing partnership of Brazilian researchers with of other countries, in U.S.A., Europe and also in the South America. Although it is concentrated in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the scientific production of researchers of other states has been also growing, notably from Minas Gerais State.
