Business information is used by managers in decision making and includes information about markets, finance, economic and industry statistics, legislation, companies and products, and other information about the political, social, economical and financial scenery in which companies operate. This article categorizes and describes some of the main business databases, showing the universe of information they offer. The databases were grouped into 10 categories: (1) general news; (2) company and industry information; (3) company directories; (4) product information; (5) biographical information; (6) company finances; (7) investment information; (8) market research; (9) legal information e (10) statistical information. The article also reviews basic database concepts, some of the main producers and distributors of electronic business information and trends in the online industry.
