User studies: the pattern that comprises three approaches

Talk about three research projects in course in the Information Science Post-Graduation Program (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Informação - PPGCI/IBICT/UFRJ). The first, aims to develop user studies based on a Web interactivity experience, where the object of study is the electronic informative <www.clippirata.com.br>. The second on the role of information for environmental education. For this, it aims to demonstrate how the craft paper-recycling workshops can acts as aggregates of information for the production of knowledge. The last project's goal is the construction of a digital tool for cultural information on the basis of a hypertext structure. The social responsibility of Information Science is the conceptual essence that unites all of these three approaches. The factor that is common among the three projects is the participation of the information users in the development of each one, a basic presupposition in the participant methodology adopted on the researches.
