Databases play a major role on the analysis of Science & Technology development and its relations to socioeconomic and political fields. This fact brings up the discussion on the quality of information being used. The present paper discusses the role of databases in the production of S&T indicators, mentioning the French experience concerning S&T analysis and gives a preliminary overview of the databases being produced in Brazil.
