This article presents the technologies and resources currently available for the digitalization, their characteristics and weaknesses. It also outlines the criteria guiding the decisions taken during the project and the metadata incorporated into the project. This work describes the experience digitalization project of the manuscripts of the historical archive of the "Cartórios do 1º e 2º Ofícios Casa Setecentista de Mariana-Iphan".
