The purpose of this text is to make public an investigative project developed with Elementary School teachers in which an action-research methodology was used. Through this project, we were able to evaluate the impact of the use of these kinds of teaching strategies. The Teaching through Research (EPP) aimed at developing new scientific-didactic competences (attitudes and knowledge). Such strategies were developed based on the precepts of the New Didactic and within a teacher training program. The data collected showed that the methodology used in these studies contributes to the overcoming of some learning difficulties that are inherent to professional training processes (initial and continuing), one of which is learning through collective work in school.
