Abstract:
This article reports on documentary research carried out in the field of interdisciplinary studies in Applied Linguistics. The research object is the animation O Show da Luna, categorized as an emerging genre: educational scientific cartoon. The general objective was to discuss science representations and to analyze the pedagogical functions that animation can assume to mediate scientific education practices for children, especially covering the humanities as legitimate science. The focus was on the science of language, which permeates all other scientific areas by building them, mediating their productions and communications. For this reason, the research also resulted in the proposal of alternative scripts for the animation, aiming at education through research in Portuguese Language in early childhood education.
