Abstract:
This research, characterized as a state of the art, aimed to map and describe the academic production on the teaching of biological evolution developed in Brazil between 1991 and 2021. We found 266 publications in three databases: the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, the CAPES Bank of Theses and Dissertations, and the Science Teaching Documentation Center at Unicamp, including 213 masters and 53 doctoral theses. The analysis included the following descriptors: year of defense, academic rank, geographic distribution, institutions of origin, postgraduate programs, authorship, supervision, educational levels and modalities, and thematic focuses. The study offers an overview of dissertation and thesis development over three decades in the national context, highlighting institutional foundations and academic production trends.
