Nation-building and international security: A debate under construction

This article aims to analyze nation-building operations, which have been considered, since September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, one of the ways to cope with the new threats to international security, mainly the so-called Failed States. Therefore, we will review the bibliography published, trying to identity not only the origins of such operations but also the definitions used by the main authors and the problems that they might present.
