The article aims at assessing the process of Brazil's international insertion under two different lines: Brazil's foreign policy and Brazil's international polity. After delivering a brief historical panorama, we will focus on current Itamaraty's administration, under the leadership of Ambassador Celso Amorim and the presidency of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Somes paths and alternatives for Brazil's better placement among the nations of the world will be put under scrutiny in the course of this article.
