Abstract:
In this article, I highlight the potential of a particular application of the concept of intersectionality. Initially, I briefly retrieve the concept's history, discuss studies that analyze how it has been used in the social sciences since the late 1980s, and then present a peculiar analysis model, which allows radicalizing the intersectional look and capture complex layers of social relations. In doing so, I seek to definitively overcome the perspective of the sum of oppressions and the intersectional analyzes that privilege sometimes one of the subordination systems, sometimes other(s). The presented idea adds to other possibilities of using intersectionality as a heuristic device.
