Tapajós frontier and children's rights: social impacts of large infrastructure projects

Abstract:

This article aims to understand how the implementation of large infrastructure projects in the Tapajós region, especially in the city of Itaituba, Pará, has affected the rights of children and adolescents, especially the impacts related to sexual violence, family and community coexistence, and participation. The documentary, bibliographical, interviews and focus group methods are used to make a diagnosis of the dynamic of production of these rights violations and their relations with economic activities, as well as the proposal of state and business accountability.
