Abstract:
In this paper, I propose to use the notion of style as a key to ethical interpretation for Nietzsche’s physiological aesthetics in the context of his Wagner’s late critique. I try to analyze the performative role of the Nietzschean “art of style” insofar as, when communicating the physiological body’s condition, it can affect in a negative or positive way the drive configuration of another body. I consider that, by subsiding the fundamental stages of the medical act, diagnosis and therapy, style presents itself as an essential component for the philosopher, the culture’s doctor.
