Abstract
The incorporation of affects into contemporary educational agendas has been stimulated in a creative way by the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the present article analyzes official Chilean documents discursively, regarding socio-emotional containment in crisis contexts. In order to examine carefully the incorporation of affects into the current educational debate, a discursive analysis based on the postulates and analytical tools of Critical Discursive Psychology was conducted. The findings show an affective-discursive canon which, by appealing to traditional versions of affect and inter-agency erasures, would contribute to consolidating the neoliberal order. The relevance of the discourse category for studying human affectivity and the historical need to transcend crises is discussed.
