Abstract
In this article, we revisit the classic debate on performance and performativity in queer studies, recently updated by the proposition of a third concept, “ perfechatividade de gênero ”. We identify a few nodes in this web of concepts, discussing their theoretical implications and proposing a way to untie them – or, at least, tie them up in other ways – based on the contribution of queer authors whose major works are still little explored in the Brazilian context, especially Eve Sedgwick.
