Abstract
The expression tiredness has been circulating at the same time in different spheres of social life to mean experiences of motherhood of Brazilian middle-class women. “Tired mothers” figure, verbalize or write about what they live in the virtual and face-to-face groups of mothers in the postpartum period, in psi speeches and on cinema and television screens. In this article, the idea is to reflect precisely on “fatigue” as a native category in these universes and to ponder on their senses in terms of the most widely thought-out social life, which is economically and politically. After all, what can “maternal fatigue” tell us about politics and economics, about the home and the street, about the idea of a “more naturalist” motherhood and about the gender roles that operate?
