Abstract
This article presents a brief overview of gender inequalities in education and science in Brazil, based on research, statistical data and reports from national and international agencies, including information about public policies and projects created in recent decades to address the issue. The paper aims to express the relevance of the subject at present time and problematize the persistent difficulty in overcome women unequal participation in areas of knowledge, education and professional performance identified as masculine’s, as well it analyses the new horizons and current challenges for gender equity in the national context of crisis post-2016.
