SUMMARY Reconstruction of 1cm descontinuity iatrogenic defects using autologous corticocancellous bone graft was evaluated on 21 canine mandibles. The corticocancellous bone graft was obtained from the ilium. The imobilizant devices bridging the graft bone and mandible consisted of cerclage or insertion of intramedullary pin. Possible explanation about unsuccess on bone incorporation was related to thermal necrosis produced by oscillating electro-surgical osteokut.
