Predacious activity of nematophagous fungi on free living stages of trichostrongylid nematodes

Nematophagous fungi are promising candidates for use as biological control agents to reduce the numbers of infective larvae of trichostrongylid on pasture. In the last five years research aimed at the use of nematophagous fungi to control trichostrongylid nematodes has been intensified. This paper presents a review of the current status of knowledge on the effect of this group of microorganism on the free living stages of these nematodes.
