SUMMARY Spatial variability in soil erosion experimental plots has been observed and results interpretation has been complicated. This study was carried out at experimental area of Soil Science Department, UFSM, Santa Maria, RS, in a Red Yellow Podzolic, 5% slope. The objective was to caracterize the spatial variability in erosion experimental plots, by use of semivariograms. Thickness of A horizon, com yield and com height were measured in longitudinal transection on 22 by 3.5m plots. Each measurement was meter spaced resulting in 22 observation points. There was spatial variability of plant height and A horizon thickness, whereas com yield was random.
