The effect of the temperature and substrate on the germination of sabiá (Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth.) and algaroba (Prosopis Juliflora (SW) DC) was studied in laboratorial conditions. The seeds were placed on towel paper, blotter paper and sand substrate. The germination was periodically evaluated at 25°C and 30°C constant, and 20-30°C alternate temperatures. The optimum conditions were the 20-30°C alternate temperatures and blotter paper substrate for sabiá seeds, and the same temperature in sand substrate for algaroba.
