Avaliar o impacto de uma dieta brasileira de baixo índice glicêmico combinada com os princípios da DASH-sodium nos níveis de PA e excreção urinária de Na e K em pacientes hipertensos em uma região carente do Brasil. |
GC recebeu orientação padrão para redução da ingestão de sal, enquanto o GE recebeu orientação e um cardápio baseado na dieta DASH-sodium e de baixo IG. Após 6 meses observou-se redução da PAS em 14,4mmHg e da PAD em 9,7mmHg no GE, enquanto no GC essa redução foi de 6,7 e 4,6mmHg, respectivamente. Após ajuste para fatores de confusão, a redução no GE foi de 12,1 e 7,9 mmHg, respectivamente. Excreção urinária de Na reduziu 43,4mEq/24horas no GE. Observou-se aumento no consumo de vegetais (2,97 para 5,85 porções), frutas (4,09 para 7,18 porções), feijões (1,94 para 3,13 porções) e peixe (1,8 para 2,74 porções) no GE. |
A dieta utilizada é viável para a redução da excreção urinária de Na e da PA, podendo ter impacto na saúde pública. |

A associação inversa encontrada entre fastfood brasileiro e a pontuação da dieta DASH com novos casos de DM e SM sustenta a hipótese de efeitos benéficos de derivados do leite no metabolismo e a frequência de SM foi menor com maior adesão à dieta DASH. |
