The Inter-Agency Health Information Network (Ripsa) is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Health and the Pan-American Health Organization, set up ten years ago to convene institutions responsible for the production, analysis and dissemination of data oriented to public health policies in Brazil. It supports collaborative efforts towards an updated database of indicators and promotes consensus on critical issues for the improvement of health information. The level of interaction achieved is relevant in the context of the Brazilian health system and has shown potentiality for further contribution.
