This article presents theoretical bases to facilitate participation and integration within an interdisciplinary research team. In order to achieve this, we will sketch fundamental notions related to the new conceptual field of self-organization of living beings. Subsequently, we will expose some ideas by Henri Atlan, Jean-Pierre Dupuy and Cornelius Castoriadis that are important to reach our objectives. Finally, we will suggest how to turn these principles into practice.
