Some data are presented on the age distribution of the reported cases of measles in the Município do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between 1964 and 1982, focusing on changes in this distribution between the prevaccination and postvaccination years. These data are compared with those of some other countries and a short discussion is made about the influence of vaccination on the epidemiology of measles.
