Abstract

In the present work, we aim to present the translation from french into brazilian portuguese of the first chapter of the book Voyage au Rio Curua (1903), by Octavie Coudreau, accompanied by comments about translation choices. It is also an objective of this article to present some biobibliographic informations about the author, as well as comments about Coudreau’s text. The work in question is a travel report and was the result of one of several exploratory missions carried out by the author. Octavie Coudreau began her work as a traveller/explorer alongside her husband, Henri Anatole Coudreau, a job she pursued alone after her husband’s death.
