Guava cream sweetmeat added of guar gum and hypoglycemic effect in the organism for both healthy and diabects subjects

Reports confirmming the increase on concentration of soluble fibers that perform glycemic control in the organism, reduces serum cholesterol levels, delays gastric emptying and it can also be digested in the intestine, making energy. Was utilized guava cream sweetmeat with 1,89% of guar gum as source of fibers in both healthy and diabetics subjects. The results of Glucose Oral Tolerance Test (GOTT) in 50% of healthy subjects showed that the simultaneous ingestion of the sweet with 4,34g of soluble fibres during GOTT caused a significant reduction (P > 0,05) of plasmatic glucose after 60, 90 and 120 minutes. There was a significant reduction (P > 0,05) of plasmatic glucose in diabetic subjects who were submitted to the GOTT with the sweet containing 4,34g of soluble fibers, after 60 and 120 minutes. For containing 2,89% of soluble fibers, presenting low calories, and being ready for use, the guava cream sweetmeat can be an option for both healthy and diabetics subjects.
