The nasality, an old theme

The aim of this paper is to show that Portuguese has two processes of nasalization, operantig in separate levels, the lexical one that originates the diphthong and the postlexical that originates the nasal vowel. In the formation of the diphthong, the stability effect, a local condition, is the fundamental point as the assimilation is, as spreading, for the nasal vowel.
