Saussurean Studies Today

ABSTRACT

This volume brings together some of the works presented at the first meeting (2014) of the newly founded Anpoll work group Saussurean Studies, which aims to gather Brazilian and foreign researchers dedicated to the study of the Saussurean conceptual system. Most of the texts herein presented fit into what is called “Saussurean philology”, which includes an effort to reconstitute Saussure’s thought derived from the author’s published texts or manuscripts. In addition to this field of study there are other works that seek to reflect on the relevance of Saussure’s theory for the analysis in the areas of Language Acquisition and Language Clinics. Both groups of articles offer the reader a sample of the irradiating effect of Saussure’s thought, which, as we know, goes beyond the frontier of linguistics to renovate reflexion about the human sciences in general.
