Digital tools for the development of oral skills in English

ABSTRACT

This paper presents the results of a case study on the use of digital tools by undergraduate students to develop their oral skills in English, having as theoretical support, complexity and connectivism. The main objectives of the research were (1) to evaluate digital tools for oral communication and (2) to investigate learning experiences. The study consisted of an on-line pedagogical intervention mediated by digital tools and the data were communicative tasks, participant observation, on-line interviews and learning journals. The results revealed that digital tools are useful to decrease anxiety and to increase opportunities for language practice.
