abstract
This article analyzes “Álbum”, a notebook of intimate writings by Maria Firmina dos Reis, with the aim of investigating the construction of her individuality and subjectivity as a black woman and novelist from Maranhão, in the mid-19 19 Álbum (s. d.), N. Morais, Fragmentos (s. p.). th century. With this in mind, the article establishes a theoretical framework, reconstructs her social context, and presents her intimate reflections extracted from “Álbum”.
