ABSTRACT
The present paper intends to historicize the praising memory of the French mission in the old Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras at Universidade de São Paulo (USP), as many historian men and women from that teaching center of higher education expressed in the second half of the last century. After a brief introduction to the subject, two great moments divide the essay: first it is analyzed the appearing of a founding report of the memory for French masters in the history department at USP. Then, comparing this first document with other texts and other actions it is remarked the process of landmarking the mentioned memory. Therefore, based on historiographic sources and inspired by reflections of history and memory, I intend to show when and how the legacy of French professors has become a strong topic memory among the history course participants at USP.
