Desafios na gestão municipal do Sistema Único de Saúde no município de São Paulo

ABSTRACT

The implementation of health policies aimed at achieving the solidarity principles of the Unified Health System (SUS) is a monumental task, with renewed challenges every day, especially in the municipality of São Paulo, marked by profound social inequality. Among the many challenges, this text addresses: the health care network and management of the Municipal Health Departments, including financing; Primary Health Care in the health network; and the strategic position of intersectoral actions. Health management needs to be capable of translating the demands and needs of the population of São Paulo into a public health system efficient, welcoming, democratic, and bolded, in an intersectoral and intergovernmental manner, to improve the health situation of São Paulo residents and build a less unequal and fairer city
