This essay suggests proposals for use of music in the segment of Rural Tourism in addition to questioning current practices of cultural imposition by massmedia effect. Through a brief historical and cultural survey of the Brazilian people, we question why we do not use elements of local cultures of Brazil in that segment. We also suggest alternative inclusion of local Brazilian musical potential as a means of differentiation of institutions dedicated to rural tourism within the market.
