ABSTRACT
After highlighting the special role of the biomedical sciences in the emergence of the notion “sustainable development,” this article discusses the theoretical consistency of the programmatic platform of the “Planetary Health Alliance,” a consortium of more than 200 organizations committed to “understanding and addressing global environmental change and its impacts on health.”
