The success of learning consists in using proper strategies. As the professional graduated, come from permanent education and also from assisted population, to whom the actions of education in health are directed to, consists mainly in adults, methodologies such as andragogy, understood as been the art of science of conducting adults through learning, are a very interesting alternative. With the aim of quantifying and describe the scientific study about andragogy in science of health from 1999 to 2009, was developed a descriptive study, using the key word "andragogy" in six bases of electronic data. The information coming from 98 publications found were categorized, quantified and described. Most of the publication came from journal articles, concentrated in the USA, having the title "professional graduation" leading the publication. In Brazil, it was more used to the patients' education. The frequency was kept on a regular base during the years of study; therefore the conclusion is that the theme is relevant to Health.
