Daily of mothers-companions-of-children-that-were-to-death: contributions for the oncologic nursing

It aimed at understanding the meaning of be-mother-companion-of-child-that-was-to-death-due to-oncologic-disease. The phenomenological interview with 14 deponents permitted the captivation of the meanings that were analyzed as the phenomenon´s essential structures through the heideggerian theoretical-methodological reference. It understood that the be-mother meant: be strong for everything, but in the critical hour of the child´ s loss felt the need of having someone next to her; be comforted by other mothers companions/volunteers; count on familiar, institutional, governmental support; have great difficulty to accept the treatment and the child´s loss; hope for the cure; desire that there would have a better way of telling that there are no more to do. In the institution it is registered as Out of Present Cure Possibility. The hermeneutical unveiled the meaning of the impersonality of the being-there-with in the assistance daily. Before the unveiled meanings/feelings, it concludes by the possibility of a singular and helpful care, mediated by the empathy, in an existential movement of the health professionals being-with the mothers.
