ABSTRACT
Objetive:
to identify the approaches about the policy of affirmative action by racial quotas present in the scientific literature produced in the areas of Information Science and Librarianship.
Methods:
the methodological paths for the production of this work are of exploratory and descriptive origin. With a quali-quantitative approach, a bibliographic research was carried out on the theme in the following databases: Web of Science (WoS), JSTOR Library, Reference Base of Journal Articles in Information Science and Scielo. The chronological cut was from the year 2000 to the year 2022 (totaling twenty-two years), by searching for the terms "Affirmative Actions", "Racial Quotas" and "Law 12.711/2012".
Results:
The retrieval of data encompassing the theme of affirmative action policy by racial quotas returned a total of 82 papers, distributed in: 57 in the JSTOR Library, 6 in BRAPCI, 1 in WOS and 18 in Scielo. These are separated and analyzed in categories.
Conclusions:
we concluded that there is an approach in ICB about affirmative action through racial quotas in higher education, however, it is a small literature for the wide range of issues that the theme can develop in academic research. We reaffirm the importance of academic research in the performance of the formation of a more just, active and vigilant State in the production of an equitable society.
