If on one hand the market reserve generated demand growth, on the another it lead sectoral specialization in products with lower technological content. At present, the machine tool sector in Brazil has the ability to adapt international innovations to the internal market, and in these processes the creation and assimilation of knowledge with R&D, external licensing, interactions producer-user and access to knowledge of matrices in the case of branches of foreign companies take place.
