ABSTRACT
In this article, we intend to reveal some of Vigotski’s contributions to a reflection on transformative education. We begin with a presentation on education, a critique of conventional education, as well as reflecting on the act of transforming, going through the bases of movements for the renewal of Brazilian education, always intermingling with Vigotski’s thought, so that, finally, we present, more specifically, its direct contributions to so-called transformative education and some of its consequences.
