Reflections on Machiavelli's influence in education and in the formation of the Modern State

This work aims to analyze some of Nicolas Machiavelli's formulations on political theory, as well as to reflect on the contribution of his ideas to the formation of the Absolute Modern State, in his work The Prince. The Prince was the result of his reflections on the problems of his time: the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries in Italy. His work expressed the development of Nation States, the removal of the sacred dimension from the political one, the independence of temporal power from religious power and the primacy of the state over religion. Machiavelli's work is considered to be highly important for the history of ideas, especially in the field of political science. Therefore, the importance of studying his thinking within an educational perspective is highlighted, enabling us to understand these political principles, so formative of modern society, and hence, understand the formation of the modern political man.
