Implications of the educational policies in the context of a nine year elementary school

This text discusses the range of educational programs developed by the Brazilian Ministry of Education to implement nine years of elementary schooling as obligatory. The objectives of the ideas presented are: 1. examine some impacts of systemic early literacy acquisition evaluation, 2. reflect on the changes in the textbooks of the initial series, 3. discuss the educational policies concerned to teacher development. This discussion also aims to contribute to the ongoing conceptual debate that takes place while these policies are implemented across different levels of the educational system.
