ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the appropriation of historical facts from the game The Valiant Hearts, about the First World War (1914-1918). This game breaks with the mainstream pattern and addresses the theme of war by a monumental and laudatory bias, and has narratives of the survival of civilians in wartime. The appreciation of narratives critical to wars and a focus on civil life make up the tonic in research projects in the area of digital humanities, as a conceptual basis for projects in the field of heritage and museums.
