ABSTRACT
This article will demonstrate how the context of production, the documental organization and the chain of custody of a personal archive are elements responsible for the process of subjectivation with documents. The collection of Alberto Pasqualini, former senator of the Republic and main doctrinaire of Brazilian laborism, will be the object of study, which will exemplify some forms of elaborating a narrative about oneself in archives. For this purpose, it will demonstrate that the discourse about oneself in this collection is the result of the intentionality of Alberto Pasqualini (producer) himself, his wife, Suzana Pasqualini (ulterior custodian), and the Municipality of Ivorá (RS) (archival institution).
