The discourse of psychology about the education of poor children in Minas Gerais (1925-1930)

This article brings to light the influence of the discourse of psychology on the education of poor children in Minas Gerais during the 1920s. The research is based on the Revista do Ensino, a publication in charge of training and informing the teachers who worked in the public schools of the state at that time. The analysis suggest that the psychological discourse has produced various power relations, effects of truth and knowledge about childhood education within the school environment, especially from the moment it advocated a differentiated schooling for these students.
