Abstract
This paper seeks to unveil the mechanisms through which the poetic writing of Olga Savary elaborates forms of expression of animal subjectivities in the book Anima Animalis: voz de bichos brasileiros (2008), considering the intersection between empirical knowledge of the ways of existence of animals and the symbolic repertoire that surrounds them. Highlighting the interdisciplinary content of literary studies, an analogy is elaboreted between the concept derived from environmental studies of “ecological niche” and the proposal of a “symbolic niche.” Theoretical-methodological dialogues are outlined with critical tendencies that reaffirm the transitive feature of the poetic, such as Ecocriticism and Animal Studies. Through this lens, one can perceive, in Savary’s book (2008)SAVARY, Olga (2008). Anima Animalis: voz de bichos brasileiros. Caraguatatuba: LetraSelvagem., the pulsating presence of traces of an aesthetically crafted animality from the emergence of an animal (bio)diversity that territorializes the space of poetic composition and is voiced as subjects of enunciation.
