Abstract
This article aims to describe the process of creating the documentary and bibliographic collection of the Museu da Companhia Paulista, which presents a wide variety of materials. The research underlying this study is exploratory and descriptive in nature, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, in addition to the use of oral history methodologies. Through this analysis, it becomes possible to observe the relationships established between the creation of the collection and the institutions responsible for its origin, allowing reflections on heritage management during the privatization process. The main objective of this study is to understand the public policies involved in the formation of the collection.
