Research productivity grantees in the Health Sciences area of CNPq

Abstract:

The article evaluated the characteristics of Research Productivity grantees in the Health Sciences area of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. Bibliometric and scientometric indicators and additional profile indicators were applied to 1,634 researchers with current grants in 2021. Data were collected from National Council for Scientific and Technological Development and Lattes Curriculum. There was a greater number of grantees in the Medicine Advisory Committee, at level 2 and in the Southeast region. The percentages of female and male grantees were similar. There was a difference in the distribution of the number of articles among the six Committees and the number of articles did influence the level of the grant received, as level 1A grantees were more productive compared to grantees from other levels. It brings important contributions to public policies in Science and Technology and to the field by evaluating the Health Sciences area in an integral way, based on diversified indicators.
