Participation of society in the monitoring of the Proinfância educational program

Abstract

Social participation in the monitoring of public policies has become part of the guidelines for good management. This research aimed to investigate society’s participation in monitoring the National Program for Restructuring and Acquisition of Equipment for Schools in the Public Early Childhood Education Network - Proinfância, created to guarantee children access to early childhood education. Through the analysis of the Program’s monitoring systems, documents and semi-structured interviews applied to technicians from the National Education Development Fund – FNDE and participants from the Child Education Forum, it was identified the low participation of society in the monitoring of the Program and adversities in the data used in monitoring the construction of daycare centers. Thus, aiming to enhance social participation and improve of Proinfância, this work presents proposals to be integrated into this process.
